A few months back we were approached with the opportunity to provide an interactive Photobooth experience for Smart Energy GB, containing their ‘Gaz & Leccy’ characters, as part of the nationwide Smart Meter rollout campaign. The project was split across two high-profile locations, spanning a total of 12 days.
Firstly beginning at the Royal Welsh Show in Builth Wells, and finally finishing up at the National Eistedfodd in Abergavenny, South Wales.
Process & Delivery
We immediately set to work in order to deliver a robust on brand experience featuring an almost fully-fledged arsenal of our tech and booth abilities.
Firstly, we had to develop a compelling 6×4 print out. We partnered up with Orchard Events team and developed a triple layer green screen system in order to create immersive depth of field and the illusion that ‘Gaz & Leccy’ were right there causing havoc, as they do, in front of our subjects.
These photos were then printed and mounted in custom branded 6×4 mounts, complete with lanyard to allow people to wear the final product throughout the day.
The custom user interface also included stills of ‘Gaz & Leccy’ reacting to the entire photo process i.e. ‘Gaz’ covering his eyes when the booth was counting down, followed by ‘Leccy’ looking pleasantly surprised with the final image!
This was then followed up with our in-built social media sharing capabilities allowed users to share their photos in real time to their personal Facebook account or Twitter (with predefined #GazNLeccy hashtag) directly from the booth.
